Employee Spotlight: Meet Krista Troy

Meet Krista Troy

We love our team and we feel so lucky to be surrounded with such smart, caring professionals. Our Employee Spotlight Series allows us to share these great people with you, our customers and friends.

We had the chance recently to sit down with our Sales Development Specialist, Krista Troy, to learn more about her. Here’s what she had to say…

Salt Jacket: Tell us a little about yourself.

Krista Troy: Hi, I am Krista! I am a mama to 4 amazing kiddos ranging from age 4 to 14. We have one cat named Todd, who blends in pretty well.  I was born and raised in a small town in Oregon! I moved to Arizona in 2012 and have been a sunshine girl ever since.  In my spare time I love to cook new recipes, thrift shop and scrap book.

SJ: What do you like about working in insurance?

KT: The greatest part about working in insurance is building relationships with people of all walks of life. I truly love helping people understand the importance of liability limits to determine proper protection of their assets. Most people don't understand the chain of events that can occur after a major loss, and what they have to lose if not properly insured. It has become my job to make sure they are protected on all levels! I’ve been in insurance since 2020 and have loved every day of it since. I remember applying for an insurance job with ZERO understanding of what insurance was. I really just needed a job! Little did I know that I would later become a true licensed insurance advisor and how much I would love what I do.

SJ: What inspires you and why?

KT: I am inspired by beautiful weather and nature! Its a good reminder that life is beautiful and worth living to your full potential, despite the hard times. I am also inspired by my kids, peers, and colleagues in seeing their success in their hard work. I really love to be a cheerleader to others and having people in my life that inspire me to succeed, as well.

SJ: Tell us about how you like to contribute to your community.

KT: My children and I love to help make gift bags for homeless shelters during the holiday season. The holidays can be a really difficult time for those that are struggling. I strive to teach them that sometimes even the simplest acts of kindness can brighten a person's day. We also give out Thanksgiving plates to those who cannot have a Thanksgiving dinner or gathering.

SJ: Who is your hero and why?

KT: My hero is my dad. He has overcame some of life’s toughest hardships, yet he has turned a dollar into an empire. I am so proud of him and his ability to persevere through some of his darkest times. I believe I get my drive from him along with my adaptability to change.

SJ: Do you have a secret hidden talent you can share with us?

KT: I can do the moon walk!

SJ: What drives you every day?

KT: My beautiful kids drive me each day to set a good example and to teach them to be kind and self-driven humans!
